  • A swine is usually referring to all types of pigs: boars, hogs. Or it can be used as an impolite name for someone. However, there are little to no differences between the two; a pig can be the same thing as a swine.

The meaning is actually the same when referring to the animal. However, these days "swine" is rarely used to talk about the animal. It is more often used as an insult towards a person, and in that case it has a general negative meaning (bad/dishonest). "Pig" is also sometimes used as an insult, but since it is also often used to talk about the animal it is not always negative. "Swine" always has a negative meaning or feeling to it.
